How to Create the Perfect Summer Tablescape

How to Create the Perfect Summer Tablescape

We’re gearing up for the festive season the best way we know how, hosting delicious meals whilst soaking up the equally delicious Australian summer.
Though, when it comes to hosting the perfect casual summer soiree, the devil really is in the details. Nailing your tablescape can instantly set the mood for your event and create an ambience that welcomes and relaxes your guests.

We’ve spoken to our team of seasoned hosts to collate your go-to guide on pulling off the perfect, effortless tablescape.

Mix and match your serving ware

The aim is to always pull off a cohesive and coordinated-looking table, whilst still looking effortless and unplanned. The trick? Mix and match your serving ware, while using one layered, common element that pulls your vision together.

Our new range of Earth Dinner Plates are the perfect colour to use as a base, and layer with themed napkins, place cards, or glassware, to elevate the look.

 Glassware for every occasion

When hosting a large group, table space savers are key. To alleviate styling multiple glasses on one table (and save the hostess running around to fetch the appropriate glass!), we opt for a universal glass that’s functional yet beautifully designed.

Our newest collection of Beldi Glassware  are handmade in Morocco and  blown from recycled glass. These unique, tapered pieces are practical yet stylish, making them the perfect addition to any tablescape.

The added bonus? These glasses respect the essential standards of recycling and job creation for Moroccan artisans, so you can cheers to supporting local Moroccan creatives at your next event.

 Placing importance on place settings

Setting the table before your guests arrive with placemats and napkins adds a small touch of finesse to your setting. For some added depth and character, experiment with different placemat shapes that have a cohesive look + feel. Our Maja placemats in round and rectangles can be used as a combination of placemats and as pot protectors.

Visually, this can add an element of texture and appeal to any table!

Play with height

Don’t be afraid to play with height when it comes to arranging your table. Using a combination of longer vases and short candles can help give depth to your tablescape, without overcrowding the table.

Key tip: Why our team of hosts encourage playing with different heights, remember your guests still need to see each other! Remember to test run the functionality before your guests arrive.
